Recently, there has been significant progress in the construction of the Wuhan-Yichang section of the newly built Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High Speed Railway. The completion of the Tianmen section’s box girder installation lays a solid foundation for subsequent ballastless track construction and rail laying operations, providing robust support for the subsequent opening and operation of the railway.

The Lushi Casting Yard, under the jurisdiction of Shanghai Civil Engineering Co., Ltd. of CRE, has successfully completed the installation of the last box girder at the third standard section of the Wuhan-Yichang section, marking the comprehensive completion of the prefabrication and installation tasks for two bridges, totaling 721 box girders, in the station front project of the Wuhan-Yichang section of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High Speed Railway. Since entering the site in 2021, personnel of the casting yard have efficiently advanced the production of box girder fabrication and installation. They rigorously implemented various quality control systems, such as the First Piece Inspection mechanism and On-site Technical Monitoring procedures, ensuring responsibility for engineering quality management and ensuring the internal and external quality of the railway box girder, with leading fabrication and installation speeds along the railway.

It is understood that the Wuhan-Yichang section of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High Speed Railway is an important part of the high speed railway corridor along the Yangtze River, with a total length of 313 kilometers and a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Once completed, the project will significantly reduce the time and space distance between Wuhan and Yichang, ushering in the high speed railway era for several cities along the route. This holds great significance in serving the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and promoting Hubei’s accelerated establishment as a strategic fulcrum in the central region.
